FAQ
During setup, connect your phone and HABI devices to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Avoid using Guest or IoT Wi-Fi networks during setup, as some router configurations may prevent your phone and HABI devices from communicating correctly. If you experience connection problems, temporarily disabling the 5 GHz network may also help.
Make sure the HABI app has permission to use Bluetooth and Location during setup. If you’re using an iPhone, also make sure the HABI app has permission to access your Local Network.
Before starting:
- Make sure you have the latest version of the HABI app.
- Make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi.
- Temporarily disable any VPN on your phone.
- Make sure the device and receiver are powered and connected.
- Keep the thermostat close to the boiler receiver during setup.
Once setup is complete, you can install the thermostat in its intended location.
If you’re having trouble connecting a HABI device:
- Close and reopen the HABI app.
- Restart your phone and Wi-Fi router.
- Make sure your phone is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Make sure you’re not connected to a Guest or IoT Wi-Fi network.
- Move the device closer to the boiler receiver during setup.
- Reset the device according to the user manual and try again.
Restart the boiler receiver and your Wi-Fi router, then reset the device according to the user manual and try adding it again. Keep the device close to the boiler receiver while completing the setup.
Make sure the Apple Home app is working correctly, as HABI uses Apple Home during the Matter commissioning process on iOS.
If the problem continues, go to Settings > General > Matter Accessories and remove the HABI device. Restart your iPhone, reset the HABI device according to its user manual and try adding it again.
Yes. Once a HABI Matter device has been added through the HABI app, go to:
HABI app > Device > Settings (three-dot icon) > Matter Pairing Mode
You can then scan the displayed QR code or enter the numeric code in the other Matter-compatible app.
Yes. The address field is optional and is mainly used to help distinguish between different locations, such as Home or Office. Leaving it blank will not prevent the receiver from functioning.
A slow-flashing blue light means the receiver is trying to connect to your Wi-Fi router.
Check that your Wi-Fi router is working correctly. If necessary, you can reset the receiver’s Wi-Fi settings by pressing and holding the right pinhole button for 10 seconds, then set up the Wi-Fi connection again through the HABI app.
A fast-flashing blue light means the receiver is trying to connect to the cloud.
Check that your internet connection is working. If other devices on the same Wi-Fi network can access the internet normally but the receiver still cannot connect, contact SALUS customer support.
A slow-flashing green or red light indicates that the receiver has lost its wireless connection with the paired thermostat.
The receiver will continue operating according to the last command it received until the wireless connection is restored. Check the distance between the thermostat and receiver and look for possible sources of wireless interference.
A slow-flashing blue light on the bottom switch means that an over-the-air firmware update is in progress. Do not disconnect the receiver from the power supply while the update is taking place.
This is normal if your installation does not include control of stored domestic hot water.
For S-plan or Y-plan systems with stored hot water control, make sure the 2nd Relay Function for hot water control is enabled in the boiler receiver settings in the HABI app.
A flashing RF icon indicates that the thermostat has lost communication with the boiler receiver. Check the distance between the thermostat and receiver and look for possible sources of wireless interference.
If the RF icon does not appear, the thermostat’s pairing mode may have timed out after five minutes.
Remove and reinsert the thermostat batteries to reactivate pairing mode. The pairing icon should begin flashing slowly, indicating that the thermostat is ready for commissioning through the HABI app.
- HI – the measured ambient temperature is above 40°C.
- Lo – the measured ambient temperature is below 0°C.
