Technical Manager DACH

As part of international technical team, the Technical Manager DACH will provide first line support to the company’s customers, internal Sales Managers, and professional installers for queries relating to our product ranges including thermostats/programmers, Smart Home (internet based), Underfloor and others. 

The jobholder will carry out all tasks and prepare documentation for the development of the company’s new products working closely with R&D teams across Asia and Europe. He/she will have a great influence on the company’s product development and the technical direction we will move in!

Type: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Location: Mühlheim am Main, Germany

Qualifications:

  • Background & experience in Plumbing & Heating and Electrics
  • Technician or Engineer (Bachelor) in Electronics/ Electrical/ Installations
  • Excellent communication skills (essential)
  • Ability to explain technical advice in simplistic terms & provide detailed technical guidance on products in English (essential)
  • Genuine interest in Smart Home & App based systems.
  • Good work ethic, reliable and punctual (essential)
  • Aptitude for learning and developing skills (essential)
  • Good collaborative working
  • German and English (spoken & written), being prepared to improve English during the job.
  • Driving Licence B (standard cars)

Responsibilities:

  • Input into the development of new products, ensuring the region’s needs for technical solutions are incorporated into new products by our engineers & designers based in Hong Kong.
  • Provide advice & support to our customers via telephone, chat, e-mail and on-site
  • Provide training to our customers together our Sales Team
  • Support our Sales Team with Technical information & requirements
  • Participate in weekly technical meetings (via video conference) with technical teams in Europe & Asia. Attend F2F meetings and when required.
  • Prepare specification sheets for the adaption of existing products and/or new products.
  • Be involved with the design, development and testing of new products.
  • Conduct product investigations/fault finding activities on returned products
  • Preparing technical documents i.e. data sheets.
  • Assisting with the preparation of product manuals.
  • Play an active part in maintaining technical database.
  • Issuing credit notes for faulty products.
